Illinois Bunn Special - Rare Anti-Magnetic Shield
You don't see these every day. Here's a classic 16 size Illinois Bunn Special with 21 jewels in gold settings, housed in a lovely swing-out style case (having a slight ding on the back). But once the movement is swung out of the case, there reveals a patent applied for anti-magnetic shield covering the movement. Research indicated that Albert L. Haman filed for a patent in 1919 for this clever addition to a watch case. First one I've ever run across in 30+ years! And putting a railroad grade movement below it sure makes good sense! Ca. 1920.
