I am so very pleased with the restoration of my vintage Bulova. It looks absolutely beautiful. You are a master craftsman and I will recommend you to anyone who'd like to have their vintage watch restored or repaired.
Sincerely,
Elsa
Dear Dave,
Just a note to thank you for the great job you did repairing my Illinois wristwatch (job #4394). I received the watch 2 days ago and it has been keeping EXCELLENT time since being first wound. The movement winds very smoothly, the hands set very smoothly and you did a GREAT job of reassembling everything. The crown and bracelet look great after you polished them. The price you charged was very fair, and the turn-around time was very quick. All in all I am very happy I chose you for this project. I will be doing business with you again. Thanks again for bringing my old watch back to life.
Sincerely, Dave
Good Morning Dave,
Received my watch today and it is beautiful. The face looks beautiful - just as it must have looked when it was brand new. Thank you so much for putting the watchband that I sent with the watch on it because it really sets the face and case off.
I am so very pleased with your work that in a couple of months I will be sending you another watch for cleaning, repair and face restoration. I'm surprised you did not take pictures before and after on your website for all to see what kind of work you do.
Again, thank you so very much for your excellent work.
Sincerely,
Chery
Dave,
Got the watch back today and it winds a lot easier. Just like new. Thanks for the quick response and it's been a pleasure doing business with The Last Wind up.
Thanks, John
Dave,
Got the watch back today and now that it's polished, it looks almost brand new! You did a great job and it's easy to see that you take pride in your work. I will be sending you another Longines watch from approximately the same time period.
Again, thank you for doing such a great job on the first watch. I look forward to seeing your work on the second. This one has sentimental value. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Chris
Dear Dave,
Just received the Illinois wristwatch today (job 4489). Once again you did a FANTASTIC job restoring a watch for me. This watch is 102 years old and you have not only made it run like new but it looks NEW also. I am very glad I took your suggestions and had you buff the case and not plate it, also the new hands you installed look so much better than the ones that were on it. Even the dial looks like new. I have recommended your services to several of my friends as I am sure they will be as happy with your work as I am. You are truly a craftsman. Once again, THANKS very much.
Sincerely, Dave S.
When my 99 year old grandmother died, we were cleaning out her dresser drawer. In a cardboard box were 3 pocket watches, none of which worked. I selected what I thought was the "prettiest" and took it to my local jeweler. He sent it to their watch repair man. Much to my dismay I was told the balance staff was broken, and that they couldn't find one. Not wanting to give up that easily, I went on line and came up empty on balance staffs for antique pocket watches. I did however find several listings for "antique pocket watch repair". I emailed them all, and the Last Wind Up was the only one to respond. I sent them my watch. They had the balance staff made, replaced the crystal, cleaned the mechanism, and my watch is running! I was very pleased with the communication, repair, and charge. If I ever hear of anyone wanting to have a pocket watch fixed, I will recommend the Last Wind Up.
Sincerely,
Kathy P.

Ordered my first LIMES watch (Ickler 80th anniversary) from the Last Wind-Up and it arrived last Saturday in perfect condition. The watch was more than what I expected and I must say that you'll get more than your money's worth. The execution of the dial and case design is flawless. It epitomizes "understated elegance" and is a watch worthy of the occasion for which it was made to commemorate.
Barb from the Last Wind-Up provided exemplary customer service by keeping me updated about the status of my order almost every week until it arrived. That's the kind of service you would expect (and should get) only from high end watch retailers but as we all know, that's not always the case. I would definitely buy another LIMES watch from the Last Wind-Up in the future and would recommend them to anyone who's looking for one.
Dave,
The Columbus North star you rebuilt for me came out excellent . I am very very happy with the results . It is rare today to fine a craftsman like yourself . Again, thanks for the great job.
Sincerely,
Brian C.
Dear Folks:
I received my pocket watch in the mail a few days ago, and it looks and works great. It’s always good to know that there is a company that you can trust and “The Last Wind-Up” is a trustworthy company. Many thanks to Dave Berghold for making my 100 year old pocket watch like new again. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Dave, I couldn't be more satisfied on the work you did to my watches. The Hamilton is so nice I wonder if I will ever have the nerve to actually wear it. It's a complete mystery to me how they can duplicate the face and the gold plating was the perfect finish to complete the watch. You are a fine craftsman. Best regards, Greg S.
Hi Dave,
Mary and I wanted to thank you for everything you did!! We’ve been amateur collectors of pocket watches for a little while now. It all started with my fascination with the railroad watches and progressed to what we now call our “little collection”. We are not name brand specific nor are we size specific. Although I must tell you that I am still partial to the “big old watches” and Mary adores the fancy smaller watches. She’ll tell you that she is all about the faces and cases. About a year ago Mary happened onto a watch with a Fusee movement and just had to have it. Of course it didn’t work when we got it so we took it to the local watch repair shop where it still is today. Then about four months ago she found another one. This one was made by Grafton’s of London and was described as being made in the 1750’s. When we received it in the mail it looked like it had been neglected for some time. The case was very worn, scratched, dull, and dented. The face was basically in tatters and the hour hand was broken. The movement though, ticked!!! I was excited now! Although it ticked I was afraid to wind it before it had been looked at by a professional. Not wanting to return to that same shop where our other watch still awaits repair I started looking online for a place to send my watch. I sent emails to six different places that all indicated they had experience with the Fusee movement. Two got back to me. The first one had a secretary send me a “form” letter with a price list attached. I called them as asked and again only talked to a salesgirl. Then I got my email from you. Needless to say we were impressed. A personal message from the person that was actually going to do the work. After we talked on the phone I knew that Mary and I had found the right person to trust our little treasure to. Your emails and phone calls kept us informed throughout the process. You even sent us pictures of the work in progress. I would never have expected that in today’s day and age. Everything seems to be so impersonal nowadays. Not you, though, you were right there for us the entire time. When the big day arrived and we saw what you had done…FANTASTIC!!!!!! That and a thousand other compliments will never be enough. The watch is absolutely beautiful. It “runs” like a champ. We couldn’t be more pleased. The hand you fabricated is so nice. It looks like it was made for that watch 250 years ago. You really captured the essence of the watch. The movement looks like it just came out of the box. The case was also made to look wonderful. If ever you would like us to tell our story to a potential client of yours please feel free that have them call.

Hi Dave,
I received my watch today; thanks for taking such good care of it! It's
great to see it running again after so many years. I'm glad I found y'all
at The Last Wind-Up!
Best,
Greg
Discovering the Last Windup was a stroke of good luck. I happened into the store during my vacation and was taken with all the vintage as well as new time pieces. As a collector I was impressed with the variety and the quality of the vintage watches. I purchased an IWC gold watch from the 1950s and it has kept great time and is a pleasure to wear. The customer service was very helpful. Don seemed very knowledgeable about the in store stock and was very helpful in showing me a number of lovely watches. At no time did I feel pressured and I was able to examine a number of pieces. I hope to do more business with this excellent company in the near future. I would highly recommend checking out the Last Windup to any casual or serious collector. Thanks you Don and Dave for your help.

Dave:
Received back my Omega and Longines after your work on them and am delighted with the results. I have been using them since Saturday to see how they perform, vis a vis accuracy, and feel without doubt it was money well spent; it is keeping time as least as well as my Rolex. The crown of the Omega is now operating perfectly and it is easy to wind and set and the re-finish of the dial is superb. It is a pleasure to have it on my wrist.
The same for the Longines. It looks absolutely splendid and works terrific. I am wearing it today and it looks beautiful after your restoration of the dial and case. Couldn’t be happier with both of them.

Hello Dave!
Just wanted to let you know that I got the Tobias and watch chain last week.
The packaging and shipping were excellent. Packed separately, and came in perfect shape.
The watch, and chain, both exceeded my expectations. They are perfect with each other. I have been (carefully!) winding the Tobias, it keeps excellent time.
I still cannot believe you sold me a key wound pocket watch, and this gorgeous heavy chain with two fobs for such a reasonable price. Everyone I have showed the watch and chain to have been overwhelmed, with a tentative, ...afraid to ask how much... and they are stunned when I tell them.
I cannot thank you enough for your excellent customer service before the sale, and cannot thank you enough for a product that did not meet the description but EXCEEDED the quality of the description.
I can only say
THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Anne K.
Dear Dave and Staff,
I don't know where to begin to thank you for all you've done to help me pick the perfect watch for my beloved. I have learned so much about pocket watches over the past several weeks - not that I am an expert or anything - but the knowledge gained is priceless. What an incredible gift of time and history I am giving and am so proud to do so.
Thank you for doing what you do!
Sincerely,
Suzanne T.
