18K English lever (PW425)

There is something timeless about the styling and simplicity of English made timepieces from this period of the late 1800 and early 1900 period. This particular piece is no exception. The dial is exceptionally proportioned and is signed by the maker Edward F. Ashely, Clerkenwell. The case is substantial 18K yellow gold and appropriately hallmarked. The case back has one of the nicest monograms I've seen. Stem wound and pin set in the band adjacent to the stem. The movement is wonderful, gilt with plum colored screws, a compensated balance with gold timing screws, flat blued steel hairspring and jeweled on through the escape wheel. Overall and exceptionally well preserved timepiece. $985.00
