Swiss Minute Repeater 18K (PW424)

Here is a very clean example of a complicated watch. This minute repeater has a perfect dial with no issues and a great pair of hands too. The substantial case is solid 18K, has no initials or personalizations and measures almost 54 mm in diameter. The repeat is activated by depressing the button on the band of the case at the 9:00 position and the chime is steady, bold and clear. The movement is gilt finished and offers a centrifugal regulation to the repeater train. Unusual in that this type is normally found in somewhat lower grade pieces, this one is jeweled right through to the hammers. There is no makers name, but I suspect that the ebauche was produced by Le Phare as they specialized (and held a patent) in this type of repeater. Ca. 1890.  $4650.00
