Barr Electric This is a rare clock and not often offered for sale. In the early 1900's, clockmakers were trying to use electricity (a relatively recent invention) for timekeeping. The Barr Manufacturing Company was successful in making this model as well as others that used dry cells. This one is set up for taking three D cells. The pendulum is given an impulse once the amplitude has diminished to a certain degree. With the impulse, the clock will run for another 10 swings or so and then it is impulsed again. A clever arrangement and a nice timepiece all around. Original, complete and in running condition. $775.00 |
